Transportation

The unclassified portion of the December 2023 meeting will be held at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The hotel is just a short 15 minute ride from the Salt Lake City International Airport, and is also just 20 minutes from the Utah National Guard Headquarters in Draper, Utah, where classified sessions will be held.

Travel to the Hotel

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is less than a 15 minute drive from the the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. The airport is served by all major U .S. airlines and is Delta Air Lines' western hub. Non-stop service is available to/from more than 70 U.S. cities, with more than 700 scheduled daily flights.

The Hilton Salt Lake City Center does not offer airport shuttle service.

Ground Transportation Options

  • Convenient public transportation is available between the Airport and downtown Salt Lake City for just $2.50 one way via the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) TRAX Green Line. When departing the airport, exit door 1A on the ground level and go east to locate the station. The stop closest to the Hilton Salt Lake City Center is the Gallivan Plaza Station, which is about half a block from the hotel. Click HERE for more information.
  • Yellow Cab of Utah is the SCL airport's only on-demand taxi provider. Book a ride HERE. For other inquiries, contact Yellow Cab at (801) 521-2100 or visit yellowcabutah.com. Cab fare from the airport to downtown is approximately $25.
  • Both Lyft and Uber legally operate in Salt Lake City and at the airport. Designated pick up areas at the airport are indicated by curbside signs and are located in the middle traffic lane on the ground level outside of the terminal.
  • All major car rental companies have locations on airport property, with more rental company options reachable with shuttle service. Visit the Rental Cars page on the SLC website. See hotel parking information below but keep in mind that driving to the location of classified sessions is not an option.

If you plan to drive to the hotel, the Hilton Salt Lake City Center is offering a discounted parking rate for JANNAF attendees of $6.00 per day (regularly $25). Overnight guests have in/out privileges. Please keep in mind that it is not an option to drive to the location of classified sessions.

Transportation for Classified Sessions

The Utah National Guard Headquarters in Draper does not have parking available for JANNAF attendees. All participants in classified sessions must utilize the JANNAF-provided shuttle busses, which will run on a limited schedule only - Wednesday and Thursday before/after morning sessions and before/after afternoon sessions. Travel Around the Area

Once downtown, TRAX offers a "Free Fare Zone" for easily exploring the downtown area. The area is also very walkable, with plenty of dining and entertaining options within a short distance.
